So....here's an update.

Multiple re-programs
Replacement of various modules (controlling bluetooth, audio, etc.)
New i-Drive screen, check. Problem still persists.
New CCC Unit, check. Problem still persists.
(this evening's pick up) New CAS Unit and new keys, check. Monitoring as of this evening.

I'm praying that this fixes the problem.

Update: New CAS Unit and new keys have NOT rectified the screen brightness issue.

As for the Auto Headlamp switch, I have tested it both ways. In either case, with the switch to auto, in the morning where I park, the sun is beating on the screen, in which case the brightness should be on full every time, but its not.

There is a light sensor to the right of the screen, and I do see the screen change its brightness when going under overpasses in the middle of the day (even with the setting to full,) yet when on full, it still dims in Auto (dims but doesn't change the setting.)

Based on my phone conversation with a BMWNACR.com representative, they gave me my two options. Continue to try and fix the issue with the dealer, or a small credit towards a new car. So after near 45 days or so at the dealer (multiple occasions totaling near 10 separate trips for this specific issue, this was all they could offer.) Oh well, I was really hoping BMW would fix the issue or take care of a loyal BMW owner. But, I still love the product. Just very disappointed in the resolution.
