it's in the manual, but here's the basic steps:
1. press the two outer button together for few seconds until the light flashes.
2. take your remote garage door opener near the rear view mirros. Press the remote button and the desired button on the mirror together. Wait for a few seconds until the light blinks rapidly.
3. go to the garage door motor and press the "learn" button.
4. quickly come back to your car and press the button on the mirror that you just programmed.

that should activate the garage door. Good luck

Just my two cents: I did this when I first got my '07 3.0si but when I went to program another gate into the second button, it cleared out the first. I found the procedure of holding both outer buttons erases any memory! Just hold down the button you want to program until the light flashes then follow the rest of the above procedure. Hope this helps!

Oh, btw, I didn't have to do any "learn" thing to my garage motors.

Who makes the garage opener in BMW's now?

GM recently switched from Homelink to Car2U transmitters in all of the '08's and it caused a huge problem as the Car2U transmitters embedded in the car are not compatible with many older door openers. I had to call car2u to get a "compatibility module" to retrofit my opener, it drove me nuts until I found the issue on corvetteforum.com.

good luck, i hope it's just a programming issue and not a compatibility problem.
