Remove CD Changer?

I'm getting the premium sound package on the car I'm ordering. I really want the extra speakers and don't want to go outside to have anyone install them aftermarket (though I know I'd probably be getting better quality for less money).

The thing about the premium sound package is that it comes with the 6 disc changer in the glove box. Since the US version of the changer won't allow DVD's movies to be placed to either the front Nav screen or RES and I'm gonna use the IPOD for my music.

(1) Is there a way of simply removing the CD changer to get more space?

(2) Are there any consequences (asides from not having the functions of the 6 disc changer) in taking the CD changer out?
