We just had our '08 3.0si in for service: repair broken glove box door and replace broken climate control knob. When we picked up the car EVERY SINGLE SETTING was reset. All the bluetooth phones, radio settings, climate control settings, door lock settings, lighting settings - everything. So the question is - will this happen every time the car is in for service? It seems that there should be a way for them to save your settings when they are working on your car. Anyone else experience this? |

it is ridiculous to lose settings. I once had a Nav upgrade and lost all my addresses. There should be a backup option, not sure if there is.

This doesn't happen everytime, but I remember in my 07 E70, I would lose settings with almost each service visit (and there were A LOT of service visits).
I think they do "software" reboots, and it unfortunatley deletes driver settings, which are obviously not factory settings. Stupid, but just the way it is sometimes. BMW...can't live with it, can't live without it! |
