Vibrating/Shaking seats

Does anyone notice that both the 2nd row seats and the front passenger seat vibrate/shake when going over rough roads, which cause some noise? Is this normal? I can't believe I get this from a BMW.

No, it isn't normal, there could be something wrong with your suspension or the seat tracks.

My front passenger seat shakes & vibrates if the seat is empty, and the road is less than perfect. It is annoying and sad for a $70,000 car. Add it to my list of E70 hates!!!

I noticed a lot more passenger seat shaking (plus vibration in driver's) after I got my new rims and 20s on. But this only happens at 60mph++. I went back to the aftermarket shop and had them rebalance the wheels (they placed weights at different places this time) and now the problem exists at 70-80mph only.

Would the dealer be able to do anything AT ALL about this under warranty? I don't want to bring it back to that place a 3rd time as obviously they can't fix it - I don't want them messing with the rims anymore either. Do the dealers look up to see (or know) that these were done aftermarket, etc. and they are not responsible (at least under warranty)...

I doubt if anything can be done by the dealer. The best way to ensure proper balance of the tire under load is to have them Road Force balanced.

Thanks for all your inputs. I'll bring mine to the dealer this weekend to see what they have to say.

Mine too, are yours also comfort seats? My 2007 did not shake and they were the regular seats. There must be a fix? I never saw this complaint from 2007 owners, perhaps it is a recent batch fault? I mentioned the problem to the dealer today.

Only the front passenger seat? Not the 2nd row?
