HELP!!!Question about my HID...

Hi there, I have post a similar thread in regards to my X5 3.0si HID Problem.

My car doesn't come with Xeon HID, and I have install and HID Kit on my car and everytime i start the car after 3 sec, it went off straight away with error message on the dashboard.
After A week i tried installing with a relay harness as well, it seems to work but after 5 sec, the light start to flick and went off AGAIN.

Has anyone here have this problem as well?
Has anyone install a HID kit without any problems?

Thanks...

Make sure the relay is wire properly and make sure that you are not getting a voltage drop

Thanks for your reply, There isn't any instruction with HID kit, is just a simple plug and play...

should i use a 55w HID ballast instead of 35w ballast?

it will be good if anyone have installed a HID on their X5 and let me know how they installed and which kit they use.?

Thanks guys...

Hi,
I am assuming your HID kit was made in china as there are no instructions. Beware of these ones! For BMW in general they need a kit which is CANBUS compatible.

I have used MTEC HID with great success on 3 cars (320ci, 318Ti, X5 3.0si)

The stock halogens for low beam in australia is H7. I find that 6000k gives you good colour as well as light output. 8000k looks nice but gives poor visibility in rain and fog. 4300k would be the brightest but looks a bit yellow.

The kit is available from US ebay from seller MTECpower.... beware there are fake units being sold on ebay. I have dealt with this guy on a few occasions and normally shipping takes 3-4 days!

Thay cost a little bit more than the usual crap thats around.. circa 300 US + postage.... but having spent 100k + on your x5 ....peanuts

I am very happy with mine, initially a few errors on the E70 but i think cos the car battery was low after 6 weeks in transit, however now i get zero errors.

let me know which ones you went for and how it all went.

I am not using china brand...my HID kit is something called a digital ballast, which is made for cars such as BMW and other cars with computers...I don't know whats going on with mine...
I am looking for 6000k as well...
by the way, there was no problem at all with your HID on your E70?can you post some pic of your HID?

Thanks...
