My New X5 Is A Piece of Junk!

The problems I have to be soon fixed by my dealer in Moscow, on my American brand new BMW E70 X5 steering wheel problems (squirks and hard too turn), that radiator at the front to be replaced.

What has been fixed the AC fluid was empty so it didnt have cold air when summer hit... The car has 12,000 Km now... Well I can tell you from my experience all BMW's are cars that give these gimmicks, the suspension is non existent in these cars thats why they do the the track so well... I love my BMW's but thats why I keep another rig my Mercedes-Benz

Do you lock your doors at night? I see you're in Chicago. Maybe the car is inside a parking garage unlocked at night. That kills the battery and you'll see those error messages. I was having the same issues with mine until I started keeping the doors locked all the time in my garage and every now and then put it on a battery tender for a night. Everything has been fine since.

Gee, we have to lock the doors at night (even if we park in a secure garage) so THE F___ing BATTERY does not die, and oh yeah....don't forget to attach the battery tender to your $70,000 BMW!! Honestly, I am floored that some of you on this Board defend BMW, and think this is ok. Are you guys medicated or something? This is not acceptable, and honestly disgusting and embarassing.

Good point (for an obviously medicated person) Maybe the battery is defective and causing electrical gremlins.

Maybe the defect is the Bamboo trim. I've heard the termites come out at night trying to get to it and they chew the electric wires to get a buzz.

I got the latest software version installed last week. No more battery warning messages!

Some people has suggested that leaving the vehicle unlocked is one cause of the battery drain. They may be right, now that we've got software programs running the car, e.g., some systems don't power down unless the car is locked due to either design or programming error.

was this ever proven or a technical bulletin issued from BMW? I leave my X5 unlocked for few days and do not have a battery drain problem (knock on wood).

No, that is why I used the word "Suggested," rather than "Proven" or "Issued in a TSB."

I am not happy about it or defending it. I have been looking into the same issues and received feedback from other members. The locking suggestion seems to have alleviated my issues.

I guess I need to be a little better at reading these forums. It seems you were only looking to vent and not find a solution. My bad.
