New Tire Question - Switch Now or Later?

Gents - 1st of all, I just picked up my new X5 last Saturday. It's an absolutely amazing vehicle. 4.8i, silver, black, tech, prem, sport + 20, running boards, auto rear hatch and a few other things.

My question is that the 20" RFT's are tough, they really ride quite harshly. I was going to change anyway to All-Seasons and am leaning toward the Toyo's.

Here is the question, I live in NYC (mild winter) so do I change them now or just before winter? My thought is that I could run the Toyo's for awhile and then switch back to the stock RFT's sometime before the 3 year lease is up.

Any thoughts?

Tires

I have the same setup but a 2005 4.8is with the Diamante 20's I went with Toyo Proxes 18s and bought some OEM rims off of Craigslist for a bargain. At lease return next year if I get another I'll have winter tires and rims. If I don't I'll sell them in Craigslist. I don't recommend OEM tires for winter driving, with the 20s, you'll slip even with AWD.

I suggest that you check your tire pressure. When I picked up my X5, the pressure was well over 15 PSI higher than recommended which resulted in tough ride.

Change now to the 20" Toyo all-seasons. NYC winters aren't that tough and it should be able to handle it just fine.
