rear dvd & remote question

Well we've had our X5 for almost 2 weeks now and she is a beaut. I'll snap some pics this weekend but for right now I have an annoying little problem that is bugging me. I enabled the rear dvd through the iDrive menu then put a dvd in. It plays but the remote does absolutley nothing. The red led flashes when I press buttons but nothing happens on the dvd player. Any suggestions? I tried new batteries just for kicks...

sounds like a visit to the dealer is due...either a bad remote or bad ir receiver in the res.

I don't have the RES, but vaguely recall that some posted previously that when they replaced a damaged remote the dealer had to programme changes to recognise the new frequency/channel. Perhaps it could be something simple your dealer missed out on the predelivery inspection.
