Introducing Myself

['08 X5 3.0si]

Greetings board members. I just sold my gas-guzzling, maintenance hungry Lexus LX470 and purchased an '08 X5 3.0si and wanted to introduce myself to the community here.

This will be my 5th BMW, and my 2nd X5. Previous cars include a '96 E36 M3 [I still own and drive this], '95 318is, '96 318ti, and an '01 X5 3.0. I originally dumped the X5 3.0 in favor of the LX470 because we had another child and I liked the additional space and seating availability it afforded. And although that LX470 provided reliable service over 80,000 miles I always missed the X5. With economy [pun intended] on the LX set at 12-14 mpg average and needing to spend considerable amount of money in the next 15,000 miles on maintenance and repairs, I decided to get back into the X5.

I look forward to learning more about this car here and sharing any information I might have in return.

Speaking of which, I have an AutoEnginuity Scan Tool with the BMW Enhanced Module. I bought this when I installed the supercharger on my M3 so I could diagnose the installation and monitor real-time variables. If you are in the Phoenix area and need to check / reset codes please send me a PM.
