Door Panel Noise
Has anyone experienced some sort of squeeking noise inside your door panel (driver side)? I hear it when I hit bad roads at slow speed, but not at high speed. I would hate it if I have to open up the door panel for a check to this 1 month old vehicle.
Thanks and please let me know if anyone is experiencing the same thing.

i hear squeaking noise when i rub the break pedal with wet running shoes on.
no joking, but maybe it can be that, are you able to find exactly where on the door that it squeaks? So far, my doors are fine.. no noise from them

I feel that its coming from inside the door panel, like a plastic rubbing noise. I think something needs to be tighten?

I had this problem. Does it stop if you lower the window a little? (Like 2mm--just so it isn't fully up.) That stopped it for me. I keep the window like that, which is ridiculous to have to do. Like you, though, I fear that having them tear into the door panel will only present other issues when they're done.

Joel, I wish we have good air here in Indonesia. Its full of black smoke, dust and many other stuff
I know its ridiculous for a 1 month car but well, other than that I am quite happy with this car.thanks and btw the noise come n go, its no longer there but I am sure I will hear more today. I will just turn the music loud lol

It's hard to imagine someone claiming worse air than Los Angeles--but I think you're right in this case.
The thing I wanted to point out is that I said 1-2mm for a very specific reason. It doesn't lower the window enough to let air in, but lowers it enough to take torque off of the door frame around the window. When I do that, the noise goes away. Joel |

After 6 months use I started to hear plasticky squeeking noises from the rear left door. I have removed everything from the door pockets to test, the noise remained.
It comes when I drive slow on uneven road surfaces. What I tried was forcing the window up with the button, it seems solving the problem, so I think there is something wrong with the window lifting mechanics. I may visit the dealer and get them check the door inside and tighten screws or whatever is there inside. Or....maybe I will just visit my car audio guy, he must be better in dismounting doors...and get him to seal the door for sound. The front doors where he installed speakers for me never produce any noise.

I had the same problem. It felt as though it came from inside the door panel. Actually it was due to the velvet trim of the door frame pressing against the frame on the body. Take it to the dealer and they'll put some tape around the body frame that meets the door frame and it will solve it.
BTW, yours is an Alpine White? I thought there were only 4 AW E70's in Indonesia including mine (the 3 others I know). Guess there are more of them hehehe.. Quote:

wah! another alpine white in Indo!! I have only seen another AW in Jkt! btw which dealer did you go to? I got mine from Cilandak Astra. Well I just got my car so I don't think you know me yet. hehehe
I lowered the window a bit and the noise was gone. But I start hearing loud motorcycles on the side of the street lol

I got it from Eurokars. They are the one who fixed the same noise you're having. Give them a visit and they'll fix it for you too. It's BMW's classic problem.
Seriously, do you regret ditching your Cayenne for an X5 now?? ![]() Quote:
