My wife backed her car into my car in our driveway once. Then she did it again a couple of months later! Luckily this was before we had our 'nice' cars. Like we say in my job, "One visual pickup is worth 1,000 radar hits." In other words all the sensors in the world won't overcome a quick glance in the rearview mirror. Frustrating, but gadgets are still cool!

Anyone ever use one of those aftermart reverse cameras where the screen fits over the rear view mirror? Too many local stories about suvs backing over kids...

That's why we ended up getting one. My wife's an attorney and she had a client who accidentally backed over his own three year old and killed him. My wife's services were ultimately not needed because it was ruled an accident by the police, but they were really nice folks, and it nearly destroyed them.

He'd gone outside to move his SUV and had closed the front door when he came out. But his son opened the door and came out looking for him and ended up behind the vehicle where the tire crushed his head.

On Saturday I had the car in reverse ... An old lady decided to stand at the rear of my car just as I was about to reverse..lucky I saw her in the rear window... camera was delayed (As usual).. then the whole idrive system rebooted.. I had a blank screen when I drove off...There are some gremlins appearing after 12 months of ownership !!!
