It is a blink in the lifetime of the car, imo. No big deal. GL,mD |

50 miles for a car on the dealer lot is fine (especially given that the typical test drive for your area is about 9 miles. Most test drives that I've been on here in Los Angeles is around 2-4 miles only. I'm sure I can get more time and distance in the test drives is I asked for it).
Just make sure that you get a great deal on it. If this were an ordered car, then I'd say 50 was too much. But that's just my own pet peev. |

Can someone confirm that the "soft close" feature is standard on US-spec 2008 X5? Is it trunk lid only, or do the doors have this feature too? Thanks! |

![]() By the way, I have another little question. Can you guys see the end of the exhaust pipe inside decorative exhaust tip on your vehicles? Take a look at this picture: http://picasaweb.google.com/evolvah/...33355482554818 Even at default size, you should be able to see round rings inside the oval exhaust tips. Does not look very clean to me... Maybe it can be adjusted? Or maybe ends of exhaust pipes turn black with time and become unnoticable? |

Doors definitely don't have soft close (at least for 2007 & 2008 models).

Just bought an 08 X5 last Tuesday. It had 6 miles on it. Had never been test driven by any buyers. Miles were from the testing after production and port mileage.
I debated about the sport package too. I drove a 4.8 with the sport and a 3.0is without the sport and the suspension was a huge difference. I loved the sport package not to mention you also get bigger rims, anthracite headliner, anthracite window liners, sport seats, sport steering wheel etc. Cheers! |

Keep in mind that sometimes dealers might get a certain vehicle from another dealer for whatever reason, so perhaps the mileage is from there. Mine had 47 miles when I bought it and it was originally allocated to a dealer that was 38 miles away.

Soundslike a demo to me
Mine had 3 miles on it - dealer to dealer normally goes on a transporter as a rule, another reason could simply be that rather than ordering a brand new one from the factory, the dealer found one that another dealer had one in stock with your spec and flogged to him for a better price. |

and the dealer can reset the miles on the odometer anyway so frankly I wouldn't believe the number anyway. This was confirmed to me by the dealership when i got my car new in 2010. I had a quick test drive and there was about 20 miles on it. When I picked it up a few days later it had 1 mile on it.
