what i find most troublesome is the residue one must walk thru during the diesel fueling process. certainly might FUBAR a pair of Florsheims, or whatever you suit and tie guys wear these days.
not to mention the floor mats.

strongly reccomend the all weather floor mats also. i have been to stations where there is nowhere to walk but in the diesel fuel spill.
work trucks get fuel when they need it. not always able to pick a clean station.

Thanks for the info guys.
 Today, in my hometown, Diesel is over $1 more than regular unleaded. Ahhhh, but somebody will say, we should compare to premium. Prices today at the stations down the road from my house: Diesel $4.69 per gallon. Premium unleaded $3.65 per gallon. Regular unleaded $3.51 per gallon. Although I am truly interested in a diesel X5, GL or ML for my next vehicle, at these rates, somebody does not want me to own a diesel.

The price differential between diesel and gasoline should diminish over the next year or so. Prices are set by supply and demand, and while demand for gasoline in the U.S. has actually been dropping this year, the majority of diesel usage is less flexible than gasoline, e.g., while people can cut down on the use of their cars, over-the-road semis delivering goods is not discretionary.
Assuming this change in the ratio fo gasoline to diesel remains, the refineries will make some changes to their operations to get more diesel and less gasoline. Unfortunately, to change this ratio significantly is not easy for refineries, so it will take some time for (a) the refiners to believe this is a permanent change, and (b) make the modifications to their equipment.

love my twin turbo diesel
not quite as nice sounding as a V8 but it still sounds very nice, goes really well, nearly as quick as the V8 off the mark and probably quicker in rolling starts, and I'm getting 850k's or more out of a tank (city driving) and I've only done 9000k's
