Baby Car Seat Recommendation for E70

Hi! All,

We're having our first baby boy. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions for infant/baby car seats.

From my research so far, I've narrowed it down to the following:
Britax Companion
Britax Diplomat
Recaro Signo

Any suggestions/comments from the gang?

I initially liked the Maxi-Cosi, but seeing/feeling it hands on, I was pretty disappointed in the hardness and material. Are they all suppose to be so hard?

it's been a few years, but I recall Britax was the best.

Yeah, Britax is the BEST and safest you can buy. We currently have a Britax Marathon and a Britax Roundabout. I wouldn't even consider another brand, ever! Besides from being safe and very well made, the materials are soft and look and feel comfortable and snuggly!

Thanxs. I assume that all Britax car seats should fit in the X5 without any problems. I remember reading somewhere that some seats didn't fit well in certain cars.

Hi,

We are expecting our first baby as well and I have been making some research regarding car seats and strollers. You may find the consumer reports car seats ratings attached. Chicco, Britax and Peg Perego are the top 3.

Good luck with the baby.

Ucan

if you don't mind spending a littte more money, get the maxi-cosi cabrio-fix with the iso-fix base from europe. Maxi Cosi in europe is the complete opposite to here in the US. Its the best and safest infant seat out there. We used it combination with a Quinny Zapp and Buzz stroller. The infant seat lasted him until my son was about 10 months old and he was always comfortable in it. My son is 18 months now and we use a european maxi-cosi priori-fix. ISO-FIX is like LATCH, but it anchors and just clicks right into the mounts and has a supporting leg. If you would like I can recommend the dealer who shipped it to us here in so. cal from germany.

Thanxs UCan. It seems from the consumer report that all the child seats offer "safe" seats. So I guess it really boils down to price, easy of use, comfort for child and styling preference.

lakai,
thanxs for those pics! That seat looks very comfortable and very stylish. Asides from the cabrio working with your Quinny, could you have just used the Priori as your only car seat? I don't mind spending some money. I'd just rather buy something that I can use for 2-4 years. Thus my fixation on convertible's instead of just an infant carrier.

Uhm. really need to find a baby forum that talks about this stuff. Just doesn't seem quite right talking about this here.

Chicco Key Fit 30 for our new infant - mounted in the middle.

On both sides a SafeGuard GO seat for the 3 and 6 year old. The only booster seat that I know of that has a 5 point harness for kids up to 60 lbs. Plus a nice thin back profile when compared to the Britax boosters. Kids knees do not hurt like they used to on long trips.

http://safeguardbaby.com/

All 3 fit across with latch.

I have 2 Britax Boulevard and they're probably the best out there. The push button release LATCH system with patented Versa-Tether®, built-in locking clips are great and keeps the car seat snug in the E70. This should last you a few years.

tinyride.com is probably the best website to get em. No tax and free shipping.

The britax's are very wide and you make the other people unconfortable, I have used the peg preggo till my daughter reached 12 months, then I switched to RECARO. Now, for 2009 recaro has the infant version. GO FOR IT.
