Neewbie Question

I am looking at buying an 07 or 08 X5 and am trying to avoid runflats. Are runflats standard equipment irrepective of whether the car has a spare tire (i.e. no third row seat)?

Thanks for info!

Yes run flats are standard. You can find the standard features on www.bmwusa.com

Are non runflats even an option? I am trying to understand the purpose of the spare tire! (just thinking out loud but perhaps for those who want to replace worn runflats with conventional tires...)

Go test drive one and see for yourself. Some will tell you they are loud, others will say they are fine.

My only gripe with RF's are that getting a flat on a friday evening pretty much screws over your weekend with RoadHazard (really important none the less, saves a ton of $$)
Without the third row, however, you get a "space saver".

If we have the third row, we'll keep the RF's, but if we opt for the one without, see ya! We like our scorpions on SUV's.
