For those prices I would look hard at a new 08. The 3.0s can be had for around 5500 under MSRP.

Those prices seem a little steep considering the hit that used SUVs have taken in the last couple of months.

You may be right in a few months, but I have been working very hard to buy one at auction or otherwise and X5s have not taken the same dramatic hit like other vehicles i.e. Land Rovers, etc. Prices have definitely come down but those vehicles decently equipped are still moving, albiet more slowly. The market for used 4.8's has also been influenced somewhat the weak dollar. Dealers cannot sell new vehicles for export or they get whacked by BMW.

ATL must be some unusual mkt...our crummy lil' stlr here in hillbillyheaven, Fletcher BMW over in
Asheville,NC has a lot full of E53 X5s, X3s of all variations, and a boat load of E70s sitting out on
the blacktop collecting dust.

I pulled in there last Friday coming home from chasing the ball at an Interclub Tourn. and I literally
couldn't count the "Xs", unless I walked around the lot...weirdly, there web site shows only a couple
dozen for sale; there musta been 40+ on the lot, in front, among throngs of other BMWs. Econ reality
has set in here in the BlueRidge Mtns.

NEway, good luck on your hunt/decision...
