DVD in Navigation System keeps spinning

Does the DVD in everyone's nav system spin continuously? I noticed that even when you park the car or when you go into your parked car.. the navigation DVD is spinning. That's gotta be a battery drain and a shortening of the life expectancy

Fastbuck is on a distinguished road
