How to disable seatbelt warning noise??

Yes, operating a vehicle without a seatbelt on is a gamble, HOWEVER, that has NOTHING TO DO WITH MY QUESTION. I asked how to disable it for whatever purposes. Like, when I'm parked and on a business call and can't get out of my car because the bluetooth won't allow me to and I take my belt off because I have to lean against my dashboard so the microphone picks me up clearly so I don't need to yell and sound like a jerk and the guy/lady hears beeps every 2 seconds for 2 minutes. Or, so it's not beeping at me after a hard day of labor and the car is on so that the heat or A/C is on and I'm changing out of my dirty/sweaty clothes in my front seat...how could I do that with my seatbelt on? Or if I'm having sex in my front seat so the A/C is running? I suppose buckling BOTH of you in could be kind of kinky... But whatever. Anybody know how to disable/mute it (sans your safety concerns)?

Perhaps if you had taken time to word your initial question better, you wouldn't have got the response you got!

Now, re your actual question, you should be able just to turn the engine off as it has a two stage on process. For all of the example above there is no reason to be doing any of those with the engine running. By pressing the start/stop button you should kill the engine and the warning, but the bluetooth/stereo etc should still work. At least that's the way it works on mine - I regularly sit in the car, parked with no seatbelt on whilst on phone calls - and no warning. If it works differently on US models then that is just crazy and I agree with you.

As to your comment re Europe......yes Europe is great!

Go to the BMW dealership parts counter and order the buckle part of the seat belt that came on your car. When you want to have the car running and the alarm off then you can just plug in the loose buckle which should do the trick. You might also get one from a junked auto.

Seat belt usage is compulsory in most US States. In fact, I believe NewHampshire is the only state out of 50 in which seat belt usage is not compulsory.
