2009 X5 Wind Noise Issue?

I am in the process of selling my 2007 Cadillac Escalade to a community member and I am looking to order either the Mercedes GL450 or the BMW X5. I am concerned about the X5 being an American built vehicle and it's quailty vs. the Mercedes GL450 being European built. I am concerned about wind noise issues and I wonder if BMW has addressed this problem? I am not looking simply for comfort but a vehicle that will last over the years. Any input would be great from all of you with experience in the X5. I owned a 2005 545i which I sold to purchase my present vehicle and what a mistake I later realized so I am asking for your help before I bend over again.
