2008 3.0 oil quanity

if u choose to change your own oil.
how many quarts does the 3.0 take:: 6qt ; 7 qt ; 8qt ???
with oil filter change;?? how many
'without' oil filter change?? how many?
how does one remove the air filter inlet hose to the air filter housing?

I've heard your owner's manual has this info. It happens to be in your glove box as well as posted on the home page.

Is it supposed to be 6 POINT 5 or 6 COMMA 5?

it's simple.to avoid a helpful answere and to tell a forum member to check his owners manual for the answere(that is not there!)is being a pain.i am asking a honest question that i've turned to the forum for help, as i've been told different qty's at several dealers(in parts and service advisors).
surely,some on the forum won't go 16k before they fill compelled to change out their oil.i did @ 11k.oil very dirty.will send sample to blackstone for their look-see.

kabayan! if you still have the manufacturers warranty, you must have a regular maintenance & check up in the dealership instead of doin it by yourself or else they might void your warranty. im not really so sure but you can ask the dealership...

I haven't reached the 16k miles yet, but does BMW change the oil/filter for free of charge only at that interval? Like no oil/filter change at all before 16k miles? 'Cause that sounds like such a long time before your new car gets any maintenance done.

I mean the free maintenance is for 50,000 miles and that means only about two times of oil/filter change.

thnaks pare.yes..i know owners have "free"maint..and i'll go in the 12th month reguardless.but as an owner not leasee,leaving oil in till 16k isn't the way i am going.there 'must' be some 'DYI's' on this forum that have
worked on their 2008 X5's.that's all.just need the 'correct qty's'..drop'd my old oil(very dirty)put six in ,says full but i was under the impression
it took maybe 7 or 8 qts..
