programming memory direct selection buttons

2008 E70 3.0si

Hi all, I have had programmable memory direct selection button no. 4 assigned to play CD. Before my last visit to the dealer for the iDrive software update, I was able to switch my entertainment system to CD by pressing no. 4 and resume the music from the last played position. After I received my X, all the button assignments were gone, probably they had to disconnect the battery for software update, so I had to re-program my direct selection buttons, now the button programmed for CD starts playing from the beginning of the first track on the disc. I don't know why it doesn't start from the last played position. I am using the procedure explained on page 23 of the owners manual to program these buttons. Am I missing any step..??

Thanks...

It could be they updated your software and the new software doesn't support such feature...?

If a different CD is playing (i.e. you have Button 4 set up to CD3, folder x, track y), and you are currently on cds 1-2 or 4-6, the push on the button will always return to the first track on the CD (in this case, CD3, Folder1, track 1). If you push the button a second time it will go to folder x, track y)..... at least that is how it works on my Euro spec 2007 E70.

This is what happens with MP3s on the CD - can't comment on a proper Audio CD.
