Question about the aero kid...

i have seen lots of guys here got the aero kit on their e70..but i am wondering the kit is actually functionable(i mean down force and stuff) other then just the look.. any opinion??

Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I don't understand the point of trying to make an X5 look like a 97 M3. Is an X5 SUV really meant to be aerodynamic? The inverse would be putting off road tires and jacking up an M6. Just my $0.02. Might just be that I'm in MN and deep snow and aero kits don't get along.

I'll sit and await the volley of tomatoes about to be thrown at me.

Since there are black bumpers, the kit finishes off the look. Without it, it seems much more of a common SUV.

And you'll notice that black E70s don't improve that much with it unless you're looking for it. The kit with painted bumpers also do not add much more flare. It's all about the overall look. The common person on the street probably doesn't even realize the aero kit is an addon... they see a regular E70 and another time an E70 with the kit and they will notice one stands out as much more sporty/aggressive but may not be able to pinpoint it in their mind. We do care about what it looks like, do we not? This isn't a Volvo.
