Paint protection/chip
Is the BMW paint touch up kit a perfect match or should I look into other vendors? I know with my mercedes, the paint touch up kit always comes out darker than the actual color it should be.

Check this thread for touch-up.
You need this on the wall. Also get the edge guard film on your car door.

If the arse won't fit
Try this paint kit I've used it. Works well and removed the inevitable paint blob.
