I'd say it was brave of you to purchase the 4.8 gasoline engine, considering that you are a British... Europeans almost never ever buys gasoline engines let alone 4.8 liter engine. Why didn't you go for the 3.0TT diesel? It's more frugal with fuel and has nearly matching performance...

Already got the same engine in the 650 so used to shit mpg and high fuel costs.

A 12 months old 4.8 is around $14k cheaper than the equivalant diesel right now - I would have to do some very serious mileage to even get close.

Update

Collected car today and:

1) They had done the software update and the PDC and Camera now can be shown together. Thanks Fastbuck :-)

2) The Sport button does work (or at least light up) just in daylight hard to see the light - once shaded with a hand you can see it. Haven't had it long enough to see what difference it makes to be honest - just pressed it anyway!

Thanks for all your help guys. Much appreciated.

My sport button just makes the tranny shift a littler more aggressively...I have never noticed the suspension doing anything... She drives with it in normal. I drive it in Sport mode, with ocassional slapping the gear selector over into DS mode(my favorite ). I've used manual mode, maybe a whole 3 times.

In sport mode, the LED in the button SHOULD light up green, and there SHOULD be a "S" or "Sport" icon in the instrument cluster.

I was under the assumption that with the sport package, the suspension was not adjustable. Whereas non-sport based packages had the ability to change suspension geometry...

I thought that with the SPORT package, it included a variable suspension or something... called electronic damping control.....

Its called adaptive drive as an option, I have it on my E70 , and you have the sport button beside the shifter, and here's my take on it here
