I would like to turn it off as well... My reason, is because I pull on the steering wheel when I get out...meanwhile, i's trying to suck back in.... which probably isn't good for it, as you can hear the motor bind up from my weight...

BTW, I'm not fat....6'3" and right close to 198lbs.... but I'm tall, and the X5 is actually hard for me to get comfortable with.... If I try to get comfortable, I feel that the pedals and steering wheel are too far away from me... and if I get them to where I feel comfortable, my right knee jams into the dash, and usually hits the radio's power on/off... So I actually have to run the seat forward...raise the knee rest and lower the butt part of the seat to feel just right... with that(sitting in a bucket) and the side step rails(kids)..it's somewhat of a pain to get in and out...
