X5 E70 navigation Operating system modification

Hello,

I bought an X5 E70 in september 2008.
My previous car was x3 e83 and I had navigation system type mkIV in it. There was no problem for me to update firmware, to create my native language menu and voices in the navigation.
But now in E70 car, I can not find any information about available OS firmware updates/upgrades, which can be usefull for me to create a custom modifications in my nav by myself.

Can anybody be helpful and describe me the differencies between mkIV navigations manufactured around 2004 and the newest navigations used in E70 (X5), E71(X6) ?
Thank You very much.
