They're still using the 3.0 in the 328s for the foreseeable future aren't they?

And yes they should've put the bi-turbo in in the first place, it's safe to say we would've all wanted that one instead for this beast of a vehicle (even if this 3.0 engine has won awards). I would've gladly paid the $5k premium we're seeing in the diesel now. As I alluded to earlier, 4.8's price is not worth it in my opinion... price nor mileage as I'm keeping this thing looooooong term.

Thanks everyone for the great replies! especially rh as I share the same sentiment wrt the difference in performance between the engines and their price. It was already a stretch for me to get into a 3.0 but I am happy to announce I am now a proud owner myself!

Buy the New one. When I had a E70 Loaner I drove it in Manual shift mode the entire time. lol
