Removing front centre air vent

The little tab on the left front centre air vent came off earlier today. I managed to retrieve 3 bits, the tab, what looks like a clip and a little metal spring. It all seems to clip together but I need to remove the air vent to do this. Would appreciate any tips to reinstall this tab without removing the air vent. Alternatively would appreciate instructions on removing the air vent.

Thanking you in advance.

Looks like I'm the only one with this issue. Never mind, I'll bring it into the local dealer.

Same problem here. It's covered under the warranty.

Hi Nokmate,

I have removed the front vent, when installing a tv in motion lead, The vent is just clipped in (no screws) just pull it from the bottom of the vent and it will just pull away.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Carl. Did you remove the wood trim under the vent first? I opened the glove box and tried to remove it from that end. However it felt that just the front plate was coming off instead on the whole vent assembly.

Hi Nokmate, The vent and the bottom trim (including the glove box switch) are one unit, If you just get your fingers under the trim you will feel it start to come away.....It then just pull's out.
If you still have problems I will post some pictures...Tonite..

I will be eternally grateful if you could. I don't really want to break anything.

I would also be interested your experience with the installation of the TV cable. It is highly annoying having a tv which only works when the car is in Park.

Thanks.

Hi Nokmate

Hope you find these useful, Just put your fingers at the bottom of the trim underneath the vent. It will feel a little bit tight at first but trust me it come away. Once you have pulled it away there are (i think ) 3 connection that just unplug and you can remove the vent completely. The connections cannot be mixed as they are all different sizes.

I did fit a tv in motion lead but it has a fault on it. I am currently waiting for a replacement once it arrives and is working ok I will drop you line.

regards

Hi Carl,

Thank you very much. I will have a go at it tomorrow when there is more light.

Would appreciate any advice on the tv thing once you get it sorted as well.

Thanks.
