how long was the detailing? When I got my X tinted he had all the doors/hatch open and radio going the whole hour. No problems.

I would think a full day detailing? If you took it to a shop, it is likely they had your stereo on for all day to cause battery drain.

Detailed it myself. I would open and close door after vacuuming each side, hatch was closed shut. Keys were far away from the vehicle. The car was off. It's really odd. Almost like I shouldn't clean the interior. Something is draining the battery when I clean the interior. the doors are only opened when I am cleaning the part of the interior, then I close it and start on the next part. Dealer is saying I can't keep doors open to clean the inside....ridiculous!!

That dealer needs some re-education. Do you know if your lights were on..?

That's odd. I can't start the vehicle due to battery drain. I'll jump start it and the vehicle seem fine but the following morning the battery is dead again. I've charged it overnight but it still won't hold the charge. This all started the day after I had my windows tinted. BTW, this is on my 2006 X5. I'm having it looked at tomorrow at a local dealership.

Could be a culmination of short-distance driving (not enough to recharge cumulative starts) and this recent activity finally putting it over the warning threshold. How long are your commutes?

Lights were off. Battery only seems to drain after I detail the interior (clean seats, vacuum and clean windows). This is the second time in a row this has happened. Dealer trying to say it's my fault. I say i want a new battery installed, since this is the second time this has happened and only happens when I'm detailing interior, but he says he may not be able to if he cannot prove the battery is bad......WOW!! I agree, the dealer does need some re-education. I plan on calling BMW technical at corporate tomorrow. I'll let you know what I find out.
