I used to think it was easier maintaining a k&n until about the second time I had to go through the whole rigmarole and then wait for it to dry, compared to simply lifting the lid and swapping out the paper filter (on my nissan patrol, 5000km services). gave the k&n away to a mate who wanted it for his patrol, and he ended up ditching it for the same reason heh
