I am NOT after HP. I live in a VERY dusty environment, and I like K&N because of the ease of maintenance. And I was not looking for "pro" and "con" K&N posts, just for a pointer where can I find them.

Thank you. Do you have some examples of the interference with AF sensor? I've been using K&N on all of my vehicles for years, and did not have probs. Have one on the Cooper, and H1 as I type this. No probs.

Might be a different browser. I don't have K&N banner on my screen!
After posting this, I talked to few people that drove the X5 for a while, and everyone agrees that K&N in this vehicle is a potential trouble. I was hoping to hear from the owners that use CAI, or just the filter, and their experiences with that. Here in the desert, the AF gets dirty fast, and I've been using K&N for a while for the ease of maintenance. Much easier to wash, and oil K&N, than to drive 200 miles to the dealer, and pick up OEM.
