BMW Assist

Wanted to know if any of you subscribe to the BMW Assist concierge option for $199.00 per year. I tried it on a recent trip when I forgot the directions to my hotel 350 miles away. They sent the directions to my Navagation system. Very cool. I don't know how much I would use this feature so that's why I'm asking. Anyone use it? Do you use the local features much (restaurants, airline schedules, weather, etc.)?

I decided not to subscribe. I would never use it. I do all my research (primarily using Google and Wunderground) before I go anywhere far or not known to me. And I put the destination/s into the Nav system.

For the example you gave, you would have been able to search for the hotel in the Nav system and let that supply the directions.

And I have an iPhone 3G --- that provides access to more info than I could ever need

I agree. Having any decent smarphone (Iphone, Blackberry etc>) will do the job and cheaper than $199/year. I do all my search on Google maps using my Blackberry and it's so much faster and accurate. I just pop the address in my Nav. I don't even use the POI on the nav since it's takes forever to find anything.
