Agreed. The E53 came from an era of classic, timeless BMW design. No excess flab or bulk. Too bad the same can't be said of the E70.

My intention was not to say that E53 is better than the E70, I still prefer my E70 as rh71 pointed out E53s rear end definitely needed improvement, it looked chopped. Having said that, the E53 still does not look out of place or time in any parking lot.
