axle creaking

I hear a creak right as I turn up my driveway at the point where there's pressure/weight on the axle(s). Any driveway really but it doesn't always happen. You know the mechanical creaking sound when the parking brake is under pressure from the weight of your vehicle while on an incline (that's normal right?) - it sounds similar but it's not happening because of that. I want to say it's coming more from the left wheel but am not sure. Is this something I should worry about or may cold weather or something shifting under there have something to do with this?

nobody else? It's actually very audibly noticeable for both front and rear axles as I drive forward off my driveway. (I sometimes park in there backwards so that's why I'm driving out forward)

I guess I'll add it to the laundry list for the Wednesday visit.

The bushings are what would be most suspect, especially in this weather.

The creak is still driving me up the wall... it is definitely in both front and back axles after taking many driveways (mine or others like into a gas station, etc.) in drive or reverse. Everytime I hear it - not even trying to hear it - I say to myself this can't be right... really no one else now with this sound? I really don't want to waste hours at the dealer if it's somewhat normal (cool temperature?)... but I guess I'll schedule another appt.

I hear a creak as well. But only in the mornings when I am entering the vehicle. Comes from the left side. I was thinking this is normal.

Hi rh71,
I have exactly the same situation as yours. However, the BMW does not admit it is an issue or problem. I don't remember I had such creak during the first year of ownership (or at least the first half year.)

I think the techincian do not even know what it is or what causes it, so they just try to fool me around until the warranty expired (this September.)

I just leave some record in their log so that in case in the near future they tell me that I have suspension problem or something similar, I can argue with them.
