I just thought that the flares seemed necessary after seeing that the wheels stuck out a bit. I also thought the wider flares looked better and completed the look.

Thanks! I actually ended up selling the X5 in September though. Made the mistake of test driving the M3 and I was hooked. X5 only had 5300 miles when sold. I have 2400 miles on the M3 now and it's absolutely amazing.

I've never sat in an M3 but have in plenty 3-series... are their interiors pretty much the same? Do you miss the nicer X5 interior? I know performance is a different story.

I actually had an E90 330 also (before the X5). The interior of the M3 (and the whole car really) looks and feels upgraded from the standard 3, even though many of the interior bits are the same. The Novillo leather is extremely comfortable and looks awesome. A huge upgrade over the Nevada in the standard 3. The armrest is split so that the driver's side of it can slide forward. And the carbon leather trim (M-exclusive) literally gets comments from everyone that gets in my car.

I actually find it more comfortable than the X5 because the seats just fit me better and I like the driving position better. My X5 had the ventilated seats and they were a little too flat and hard for my tastes. I was hesitant to sell the X5 because I really thought I'd miss it, but that hasn't turned out to be the case at all.

Both vehicles are obviously very nice cars...

Is this incorrect?
That's BS.. You need to take the bumper off to replace the bottom grille...the other grilles can be changed without taking other arts off...I've changed mine to titanium and again back to black...oh and get the wheel arch flares.. hopefully the dealer doesn't tell you you need to buy a new truck for that...

I actually bought it off the lot, which isn't usually my style but I knew it hadn't been there very long. After a 2-day detail with multiple polishing steps to fix the dealer's prep work, it looks great.

I ordered the titanium kidney grilles from Morristown BMW (emailed them and paid via Paypal). They give great prices to members on here.

Nice Truck! Congrats.

I notice you have the all weather cargo liner. How do you like it? Does it sit on top of the tie down hooks? I have premium pkg too and need a cargo liner.

Thx.

Thanks. I guess no one seems to be noticing the multiple posts where I mention that I've already sold my X5!

But to answer your question, the cargo liner was great. I removed the tie down hooks because the liner would have rested on top of them and I didn't need them anyway. But if you want to leave them in, there are places marked in the cargo liner that (I assume) are there so that they can be cut out to make clearance for the tie downs. You can see them in the picture...near each corner.
