Turbo 5.0 V8...M Edition or 4.8 Replacement?

Question...

Since I have a 4.8 on order...this is a KEY issue for me:

Regarding the 5.0 Liter V8 currently available in the X6, would it be a replacement for 4.8, or would it me for a new "M" edition?

If it was a replacement, would we see a price bump?

If it was an M or there was an expected price increase, i'd be happy sticking with the 4.8 order. If it was jsut an engine swap that would be a different story all together.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer to that just yet. Only time will tell...

If you have already made a decision and placed your order, I think you should stick with it. After all you are getting exactly what you wanted. There will always be something better so don't give yourself an ulcer! If something else comes out before you take delivery, you can always cancel the order. I'm holding off on my order until I have some definate news.

I wouldn't be interested in an M for the X5. I would only be interested if it were a replacement for the 4.8, and at virtually the same price.

I'm going to leave my order in...I'm still status 112...If there is news before I take delivery, i'll consider a change.

I'd be interested if the turbo 8 was offered as the same price as 4.8, but I just don't see that as realistic.

I don't think the 5.0TT will come in as a replacement for the 4.8... IMO, the 4.8 is powered and priced correctly vs the competition.

I actually scrubbed my '09 4.8 or a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of A) updated iDrive and/or B) a 5.0TT option (assuming it will add $$ to the current 4.8i pricing.

My current thought is that there won't be a 5.0TT (X6 variety) in the E70.. Assuming a higher HP version becomes available, it will probably be an 'M'. I'm waiting, because if I can get 500hp, all the better.

I think an M would be amazing...I'm just not in the market for that, as it's my daily driver.

And X5 M would be aweaome leading and a sector leader. I hope it comes to fruition.
