Just Orderred My Third X5 - This One is a E70 35d M-Sports

3rd time lucky!

My first e70 3.0d Exec Sports I got in July 07, lasted one month, handed it back to BMW. They gave me loan X5 until the new one arrived.

The replacement was a E70 3.0sd Exec Sports X5 which I finally got on the 29th Feb 08.

Last Friday night at 9:30pm it got swamped by water (under 11 months old). Insurance wrote it off and I got the full retail price payment today.

So I have ordered another X5, this one a M-Sport 35d xDrive, 20" wheels and just about every option box has been ticked. Damn, the dealer cannot believe how many options are on it. March 09 production, may get it by late April 09.

Oh yes and the dealer has given me a loaner until the new X5 arrives.

He gives me a different car each week, from X5's, X6's, 3 series etc. The dealer is a mate of mine, I also bought a new M3 Vert off him a couple months back as well for my wife. It's Motorline BMW, there a good dealership and I have been buying BMW's for 25 years.

They still say that there is no new iDrive in March 09 production but that could so no one cancels there Feb production X5. If I had a Feb X5 production and found out that in Mar production you got the new iDrive I would cancel the Feb X5!

You would be really p**sed off.

Thats one wild ride with the E70 ! At least your being looked after by your dealer, how about your insurance, who you with? sounds like they have done the right thing and not stalled or stuffed you around. Good service !

Hi, I use MB Insurance Group, very competitive but they do pick who they want to insure. This is my first claim in nearly 30 years, have not even claimed a windscreen before.
