Squeaky Breaks

I have a 2008 X5 and the breaks began to squeak a bit when applied. I took it in to have the breaks cleaned and it seemed to work for about a day then they started to squeak again. Anyone else have this problem? I thas less than 6000 miles. The stopping ability of teh breaks has not been beminished; it's just a little irritating.

Make it a point to brake a bit aggressively once or twice a week and there's an 80% chance your problem will go away.

I have the same problem with my 07. Asked at the dealer and they suggested they clean it next around around (which hasnt come yet). Will be interesting to see what others suggest...but you are not alone.

If it bothers you, get some "dustless" brake pads, and the squeaking and 90% of the dust will go away.

I have the same problem with my '08 e70.

I am taking it to the dealership to get looked at... I'm sure it's just brake dust, since I only have 12K miles on it, but it's annoying.

I took my 07 in for the same problem, it ended up being the brake sensors being worn out or something. My pads were fine, they replaced them uncluding the brake pads too. No more noise.

Break hard and it's happening because the pads are new. Give it another 500 miles- will stop. happened to me as well.
