Do you have Sport Pkg?
If so, they handle...if not, no easy fix for
"better handling on turns"...

you should have sprung (no pun intended) for the Sports Package.

Depends on the roads you drive. I like to drive secondary, "blue" highways and never get the sports package for one reason -- the low profile tire/wheel combination make the vehicle more susceptible to wheel damage on less than perfect roads. IF I could get the sport suspension with standard profile tires/wheels I would consider it.

The sports pkg is definitely worth it. I didn't get a sports pkg on my 3 and always regretted it, deciding to never buy another BMW without the same. BMW not only stiffens the springs but they add anti roll bars and active damping with the sports pkg, definitely makes it worth. The steering and anthracite roof liner are additional nice touches.

Strut braced does not do much unless a car is cornering very very hard and causing the struts to flex out at the mounting points. Highly unlikely an X5 will hit those loads around a corner in standard form.

The sport package is the only answer. To just do the springs will result in imbalance between damper action/rebound and the spring rate. The anti sway bars would also work in unison with the sport springs and shocks.
