In Spartanburg, typically October, but that's not a guarantee. just the typical timing.

Not sure if I agree. Last year we had '08 models sitting at the dealer's lot in late summer, and I'm in Canada! Towards the end of Oct, they were offering $10K off the MSRP.

I didn't buy one because I was still trying to sell my E53. That deal actually expires today but of course there are none left fully loaded. Just the odd beige or burgundy ones.

If they didn't start production till Oct, they wouldn't be available until Nov at the earliest...

As far as I can recall BMW's have always started the next model year in Sept/Oct of the previous year.

That's what I thought as well but it seems like they don't really have a fixed pattern that they follow every year.

The E70 for e.g. came out as a 2007 model. However production for the '07 model actually started in Feb 2006. Maybe 'cos it was the first year of production??
