In Spartanburg, typically October, but that's not a guarantee. just the typical timing.

Not sure if I agree. Last year we had '08 models sitting at the dealer's lot in late summer, and I'm in Canada! Towards the end of Oct, they were offering $10K off the MSRP. :confused:

I didn't buy one because I was still trying to sell my E53. That deal actually expires today but of course there are none left fully loaded. Just the odd beige or burgundy ones. :(

If they didn't start production till Oct, they wouldn't be available until Nov at the earliest...

As far as I can recall BMW's have always started the next model year in Sept/Oct of the previous year.

That's what I thought as well but it seems like they don't really have a fixed pattern that they follow every year.

The E70 for e.g. came out as a 2007 model. However production for the '07 model actually started in Feb 2006. Maybe 'cos it was the first year of production?? :dunno:
