Quick question

I understand the E70 as model year 2007 in USA
but was it actually released in 2006? If so, what year?

Only asking because I want to be sure when I go i want to be informed thanks

The current platform (E70) was produced as early as FEB 2006. It officially replaced the E53 in November 2006. As far as model years are concerned, you will not find a "2006" E70. All E70s are going to have a model year of 2007 and up.

If you want to study up, I suggest going to your dealership and request a brochure. There also a number of sites that actively review numerous vehicles from different manufacturers. (www.edmunds.com, www.motortrend.com, to name a few).

I guess this is as good a place to ask as any but what's the SI in 3.0si stand for exactly? Not an easy answer to google...

Historically, the "s" has stood for "Sport".

i = (fuel) injected
d = diesel
l = long (wheel base)
x = all-wheel drive (typically used as a suffix for sedan models)
s = sport
