My only gripe, is that the M-Sport wheels SUCK. 1/4 X's at the plant last week were ZMP, but those damn wheels have GOTTA go.

I must confess, the M steering wheel in my 2008 M3 is the best steering wheel I've ever owned. I will really miss it. I hope that I will be able to retrofit this new M sport pack steering wheel to my very non sporty X5 35d !
I have the M Sport package on a 2008 535i, and I love the M steering wheel. Mine is heated as well.

I agree on the choice of wheels. The X5M spy pics have the nicer ones.

Agreed, wheels would be my only gripe.

Agree with you guys. There is something about the 19" rims that makes them look way too small for the car; almost like they are 17" rims or something. The design is nice but either they ARE too small or the design makes them LOOK too small. 20" rims are more like it, but those aren't my favorite style. The entire package is cosmetic with no performance benefit so I'm a bit surprised they really badged it as an "M" and not something else entirely. And even with the cosmetic add-ons why no ///M dead pedal and door sills like all the other ones seem to have. Personally I can't stand the M Sport packs body colored painted bumpers, but nothing is worse than the design of the glued on 'wax lips' front bumper. So for $6500 it's a monumental rip off.

The rear bumper is probably the only good things in the M pkg, IMHO

My steering wheel is A LOT thicker than the wheel in post #7.
I have the M Sport package with almost everything the same as this picture.

Downside about the M SPort 20" rims to me is that they are weak IMO. I have had my X for 3 months, and had 1 wheel (Back Left) repaired already after it had about 4 major chips. Now the same wheel has gotten it first chip again. I drive it so slow and carefully and have no idea how it is happening.

What do you mean by 'chips'? In the clear coat or deeper? Are they small pebble or rock size chips or large flakes peeling off?
