Opinions on navteq 2009.1

My build date is April 2008 that came with a 2008.1 dvd for nav.

In preparation for some more serious driving, I noticed that avteq came out last Sept with 2009.1 Any reports on whether this is a significant update or might 2008.1 be okay until the next batch?

there were a couple address adjustments for me but one of the routes were still wrong (can't take a left turn off the highway ramp where it told me). So if you were to ask me if it's worth it to pay $100... no.

Depends where you are located. I didn't notice any difference.

Where do you get it for $100? Navteq web says $200.

I live in OK but drive: MO, TX, AR, TN, GA, NC, SC, VA, FL, etc.

Roads and many POI's, such as banks/Gasoline stations/post offices/hospitals, etc. change very little, so the update benefits are typically in terms of revised and expanded POI's such as restaurants, shopping, etc. I typically only buy the updates every 2-3 years.

My only point of reference is the mobile Garmin unit used prior to the 2008 and I got a map each year but it only cost $100 and the changes - don't they use the same maps?- often helped my two major driving trips a year.

Can't say for 100% for the CCC version since I have an E53, but the high version had a significant update. The 2008.1 disk had something like 1.5 million POI's while the new 2009.1 has 7.28 million POI's. They usually release 2 a year, but given the huge update, they only released 1 in 2008 (version 2008.1) and no 2008.2 version ever came out.

Okay, I think the new one might help me. Is there any problem with saved destinations in the nav when you install an updated dvd?
