Congrats....

Reminds me of when I moved to L.A. in '01 and needed a new cordless phone so I went to the local "Good Guys" and 3 hours later came home with a receipt for $10k in new home theatre equipment. (they delivered everything the next day).

Expensive phone

You should take comfort from the fact that the E70 isn't the only modern era BMW to suffer from Gremlins. I was supposed to be picking up my new F01 at noon today but was informed yesterday that they are have problems communicating with the car and can't get it out of Transport Mode. They even shipped it along to another BMW dealership in the hope that they could do it, but to no avail.

They've raised a PuMA Case for it. I reckon I'll give them to close of business on Thursday to sort it out and if they haven't, I'm probably going to walk away. There's a shed load of technology in that car and this has dented my confidence in it/ them before I even drive it.

Congratulations,
If you go ahead with the purchase, have you exchanged the E70 for the 7?

I saw a review on Fifth Gear... they showed the side-view cameras which are a great idea - having to inch out at obstructed-view intersections happens a lot. Do you also have the seat-back mounted rear entertainment? What other goodies are there?

Way too early to get a new 7 imo. Whatever BMW claims, these cars are not tested enough to make them suitable for sale. I would wait al least 8 months for them so sort things out.

I have the side cameras but don't have the need for the rear entertainment system. It did look great in the brochure though.

Hate to break it to you guys, but the poor ambient light performance of the rear camera on the F01 is 1000 times better than the E70.

I'll post pictures at the weekend.
