Ipod question

I have the Ipod option and find it weird that if you go to the radio or CD and then come back to the Ipod, it starts over and plays songs alphabetically instead of picking up where you last left off on whatever playlist you were on.

Anyone know if there is an option or programming to prevent this from happening? Or is this something quirky like the A/C coming on every single time even though you had it turned off.

My X5 continues where it left of. I have the Y cable which is the USB and 3.5mm cable. I plug my iPhone in and listen to music, and when I get out of the car I unhook my iPhone and take it with me. It then switches to radio. When I get back in the car, plug my iPhone in, and switch to AUX it starts playing the same song at the exact second it left off.
I will check if I have a certain option selected or if its standard.

Mine works back and forth picking up the last song and playlist. Even when the car is turned off then back on again. I also have it hooked into the USB and 3.5 mm audio cable.
The only issue that I have is when I leave the Ipod in the car overnight on cold nights, the Ipod is not recognized by the interface until the Ipod is warmed up by hand or heated seat.

Something like that happens to me. Not because of the cold, but sometimes when I plug my iPhone in it won't recognize it and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. I think its when I plug it in and quickly get into the AUX menu it freezes.
BTW, the iPhone or iPod feel so good when you touch them after they have been cooled by the A/C in the center console.
