Smile Purpleish reflection on the windshield, anyone know what it was? we used to get this

on the old X5...


All the high end vehicles get this on the windshield.. S-class, 7series...etc...

anyone?

Its comfort glass. never seen it on an X5, just 7's and S's.

One of my big gripes with my 2008 4.8i. Climate/UV glass is available for every other country on the E70, except the USA. Yeah, some EU countries can have some hot summer days, but 1/2 the USA bakes from like June-Oct. UV glass is so great, the E70 should have it, for the price!!

I think you can replace your oem windshield with it. Does it reduce glare at all?

Are you sure it isn't an aftermarket heated windshield? I used to see those on some factory Lincolns and some other Ford products. I have never seen an X5 leave the plant with that glass, but maybe I never paid attention to that.

I have actually seen many many x5's with this, and its not aftermarket.... looks really nice...

That is comfort glass and you can have it replaced. I have not check realoem for E70 availibility, but I swapped the comfort glass windshield on my E53
