Exclamation Tire and Rim Warranty

Folks - I recently took my E70 in for service and wanted to get my rim repaired under the 'extra' warranty I purchased in November 08.

I drive and live in downtown and our streets are riddled with potholes due to constant construction. I have several scratches on both of my left rims (driver and passenger).

The service advisor said they no longer cover scratches unless they have dents or tire tears that prevent wheel balancing. He advised me to read the fine print to verify.

Have you heard this? Has this been the case with you as well?

Yes. When I was offered the warranty they made it clear that it would not cover scratches from road debris or parking. They do cover cracks, dents etc. but they also could try to repair instead of replace the wheel.

I bought it anyway but mainly for tire protection as it sounds like the wheel protection is useless.

Now I don't feel bad thinking of doing the same thing! Thanks for the tip.
