Can the running boards be removed ?

Are they bolted down and leave the holes or can they be taken off and it looks like they were never on ?

Take them off and it'll look like half your SAV is missing! You can take them off and replace them with the standard sills, but it's not cheap.

No I saw a CPO e70 that I was interested in but it has the running boards which I don't like and thought I could have them removed but sounds like that's not going to happen . . .
